The Joey Williams Project is a R&B/Gospel group fronted by guitarist and singer Joey Williams. His work with The Blind Boys of Alabama and Robert Randolph and The Family Band has earned him 5 Grammy Awards including the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
Dead Solders is an American Roots Rock Band from Memphis, Tennessee. Much like The Band and Tom Waits, they draw deep on influences ranging from Rock, Soul, Outlaw Country, to Bluegrass and Blues to carve out their own dark perspective on what it means to live and die in the American South. Songs about anxiety, poverty, politics, and death, shrouded in roughneck vocal stylings and three-part harmony, pair with detailed, dynamic instrumentation to create an engaging musical affair with an energy that sets them apart from what the world has come to expect from today's crop of soft-handed Americana Artists.
I Want Whisky transforms punk into southern roots music. By incorporating traditional styles and instrumentation, a wide range of influences – including Lead Belly, Bill Monroe, The Pogues, The Flying Burrito Brothers, and Woody Guthrie – and what some may call "subversive" subject matter, this Atlanta band breathes a new life into southern tradition with standards and original works alike. Their music displays a true American spirit; a spirit of life, love, good times, hard work, and rebellion.
